Dream it yourself….

Our real passion is to help couples fulfill their dreams of a beautiful, country wedding, and believe that they should have whatever type of vendor they want and not be forced to use “ the venues’ ” choices.

We proudly work with the top professionals in the industry. Their teams share our commitment to excellence and we are pleased to provide you with their information on our “Recognized Vendor” page.

However, if you have a preference for another vendor, they are welcome at Polmenna Barn. The final decision is yours as to the vendor of your choice for your wedding day.

Polmenna Barn provides 2 smart serve bartenders for the entire day and 1 coordinator for part of the day.

We have the capacity to accommodate up to 200 guests for your seated dinner and the maximum rated capacity of 300 guests. The venue is wheelchair accessible and has indoor washrooms.

Our story….

We are the 4th generation on this farm and proud parents of 4 daughters, all of whom were married on the property.

Our great grandfather, Josiah Tinney, immigrated from England in the late 1800’s to find a new life after loosing his wife Keturah and his 16 year old daughter Maud to the flu epidemic in England. He landed by ship in Montreal to catch a train to Arizona, USA, but because of a rail strike, he made contact with a cousin in Campbellford and came to visit her.

After visiting his cousin, and realizing how beautiful and similar the country side was to England, Josiah discovered this property for sale, and after viewing it, decided that this was where he wanted to raise his children. Josiah returned to England and brought his children and housekeeper, whom he later married, to Canada by ship, settled in and began to farm this property.

What is so special is Josiah’s farm in St. Neot in Cornwall, England was named Polmenna, and we are so proud to be able to continue with the legacy of Polmenna Barn.
